Perks of Microblading
February 2, 2022Treat to Complete – Touch up to Perfection
May 10, 2022Having oily skin usually requires a special skin care regiment and with microblading it requires special considerations, but also has it's perks. If you have oily skin and are interested in getting semi-permanent brows check out these options! Oily skin will definitely affect the quality of your outcome. When you meet with your technician, inform them of this and any skin issues you might be experiencing.
Microblading is cosmetic tattooing, the artist is placing pigment underneath the skin. The outcome will rely on how your skin and the procedure ‘get along”. I like to tell a client upfront how having oily skin could affect them: "It could fade a little quicker and they'll need more touch ups. The strokes might also expand a little more than someone who doesn't have oily skin." The artist may ultimately decide that you are not you're a good candidate for microblading. However, this is not a dead end!
Lets talk about SHADING.
Shading is a relatively new technique that’s perfect for clients with oily skin! The main difference between microblading and shading is the technique itself. With microshading, the artist creates small pin-point dots on the mapped out brow area repetitively. This allows the pigment to set better on oilier skin.
Microshading Styles
There are two ways that microshading can be done, depending on how bold or how soft you want your brows to look. And because it’s so versatile, you can combine or add several effects.
Soft, Powder Brows (also know as the Instagram Brow)
The clients who choose to go with shading want a softer, more gentle brow. This is also great for those who like filling in their eyebrows with a lighter shade.
Another popular term for microshading is the “Instagram Brow”. Because this advanced process uses different tools, the artist has the option to artistically tweak the technique and give your brows a fuller, more dramatic finish. This is perfect for people who love the look of dramatic makeup.
Also, with this technique your artist can create a gradient effect on your brows that you usually only see on models or celebrities. This look is even better accentuated when combined with microblading! This technique is called ‘combination brows’.
Combination Brow
The best of both worlds! Clean, bold and beautiful… Combination brows are an excellent choice for most skin types and colors. You will have ‘photo-ready, no filter needed’ brows everyday!
